Christian is passionate about helping small and growing businesses increase their capacity to produce safe and nutritious foods for local consumption and also export their products—thus increasing their income and improving the national economy. He is motivated daily by the genuine requests from PFS clients, local businesses seeking his professional opinion on their technical concerns and expecting solutions from him. The dedication of the PFS volunteers inspires him as well—the fact that they take time off from their day jobs to work on these projects and have such a drive for results. Christian has more than a decade of experience managing quality assurance, occupational health & safety, and environmental sustainability in three leading food processing companies in Ghana. He has also provided pro bono consulting to a dozen small and growing businesses in food safety training, certification and product development, similar to his current work with PFS. Christian’s preparation for his current work began during his university days, he says, when he volunteered over school breaks for Youth Ending Hunger, an organization that helps orphanages and NGOs in farming and food preservation projects to produce nutritious food. Outside work, Christian serves as a math and literacy tutor for children. He also enjoys swimming, reading, and activities with his family and community.
