“Pay it forward” is a principle that guides Gordon in his work and, he says, it is exactly what PFS is all about. The willingness of volunteers to share their knowledge and experience - pay it forward - and his role in bringing that information to the small food companies he serves in Ghana is why he loves his job. "In today's world, it is expensive for food manufacturers to hire consultants to give technical guidance to meet international standards in order to expand their business and to compete on the global market. But PFS makes available experienced and generous volunteers who offer such support willingly and cheerfully,” he says.
Gordon has ten years of experience as a senior regulatory officer for the government of Ghana along with a Masters in Food Science from the University of Western Australia. He is also a big country music fan and one of his favorite songs by Tim McGraw is all about paying it forward, “When you get where you are going, it is important not to forget but turn back around and help the next one in line.”
