Mark has spent his career deeply engaged in businesses at the intersection of food and finance. His 32-year career at Cargill included leadership roles at food processing plants, trading operations and at Black River Asset Management, taking him around the globe from Brazil to Switzerland and back to Minnesota. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Revol Greens, the largest greenhouse lettuce producer in the U.S. Mark has a passion for innovation in the food industry, leading- edge technologies and emerging markets. He believes the global food challenges of the next 20 years can only be solved by a vibrant African food system.
Mark grew up in Minneapolis and attended The Blake Schools and St Olaf College. He and his wife Ann have three daughters: Elizabeth, Anna, and Laura. They enjoy spending summers at their South Dakota lake cabin, traveling, and biking. Mark serves on several Boards, including Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.
